update on the current oil situation. --- Part of the gulf has been reopened for fishing, but how long Florida can avert this man-made monster is anyone's guess. Although Florahome is a good distance from the beach, no one in Florida is going to avoid the effects of this disaster if it does reach the Florida shore the way it has in Louisiana. To see Florida's beautiful beaches, its wildlife and economy threatened each day is hard for any resident of the state to witness and especially for those of us who have lived here all our life and have so many memories. Pray that those memories aren't all we'll be left with when this crisis is over.
