Though decidedly not a box office sensation, through the magic of television and something called a TV marathon this charming yuletide flick eventually found enough exposure for Little Ralphie and his screwball family to find their way into our homes and our hearts. From the way a well meaning mom tries to get their starving kid to eat,... to our daily duels with the bullies of this world, we all see ourselves and our own screwball family in this zany American tale. Like that scene when Ralph totally loses it with Scut Farkus and ends up pounding his fists, lost and in tears. Like Ralph, we all at times allow our own desires to rule the heart. But just like with the original Christmas story, it's in that moment when the world is at its darkest we discover what life is really about - when a loving hand reaches down and we hear, "come child, we're going home.
