Things to do in Florida June 22, 23, 24, 2012

Many of these Things to do in Florida June 22, 23, 24, 2012 are especially fun for kids and a great way for families to connect without high speed access. Oh, it was a joke - imagine a family communicating without high speed access. Actually, it may not seem that impossible once you've seen the Naples Player's production of Click, Clack, Moo Cows that Type. If you happen to be in the Naples area June 23rd or 24th, take a step outside the box and visit a most unusual farm where the cows get the last laugh in typewritten form. Also check out the Riverside Children's Theatre production of Zanadu Jr. in Vero Beach, FL or the Haines City Community Theatre KIDS! production of 'A Pirate's Life For Me' where the kid's themselves provide the talent and the fun! As for the other things to do in Florida June 22, 23, 24, 2012 try the 46th Annual Panhandle Watermelon Festival in Chipley, FL for a thumpin' good time. In Flagler Beach you'll be just in time for the latest Spiderman installment with the 'Spectacular Spider Program' at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area. Finally, how about taking the family to a baseball game, or if it's just you and your hubby, try the 'Taste of the Caribbean and Jerk Festival' in Clermont, FL - cover your all your bases. It's a family friendly list of things to do in Florida June 22, 23, 24, 2012. No texting please. Right... now that's a good one.

Things to do in Florida May 4, 5, 6, 2012

Finding Things to do in Florida May 4, 5, 6, 2012 is not that hard. Even the kids will discover a world of fun stuff to do, especially in the Tallahassee, FL area. The 5th of May or Cinco de Mayo is fiesta time at the 11th Annual 'KIDSFEST' filled like an overweight pinata with activities and entertainment for kids of all ages. Other Cinco de Mayo events in Florida this week include Sarasota's 1st Annual Cinco de Mayo and Taste of Latin America Festival and of course you MUST attend the GRAND PADRE of them all - the Cinco De Mayo Chihuahua Races in Delray Beach, FL where anything can happen! For bigger kids looking for things to do in Florida May 4, 5, 6, 2012 there's always the 'Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival' going on May 4th - 6th in Fernandina Beach. One of Florida's favorites, this celebration of the area's rich shrimping tradition and pirate laden past is a not-to-be-missed mark on the calendar for many this time of year, so why not make it one of yours? While those acts are decidedly tough to beat, there are at least a couple this week that stand a pretty fair chance - those being country MEGAstar Alan Jackson's concert in Pensacola May 4th and playing St. Augustine, Hollywood and Tampa FL - the band on everybody's playlist, The Beach Boys are also on this week's list of Things to do in Florida May 4, 5, 6, 2012. So check it over, argue, um,... discuss it with the family and y'all have a good time!

Things to do in Florida July 29, 30, 31, 2011

This list of things to do in Florida July 29, 30, 31, 2011 picks up where the last one left off  (no, you're not outta the woods yet Scarecrow). This week however, you're invited to join Dorothy Gail and that "menace to society" Toto as they take the stage at the Lakeland Community Theatre in Lakeland Florida. To get in you have your choice of regular admission or you can just bring them the broomstick of the Wicked Witch of the West. (Please don't do that) Another tale familiar to kids young and old is the one about a young boy named Charles Bucket better known as Charlie who's golden ticket and heart of the same color wins big in 'Willy Wonka' playing this weekend at the Pensacola Little Theatre. You have your choice of regular admission or you can just show them your golden ticket. (Please don't do that) Kid fun is apparently the theme this weekend starting with a Crackerjack box of baseball games to enjoy. There's also a Barbie doll collectors convention and a couple of new big kid toys to play with on this Wonka list of things to do in Florida July 29, 30, 31, 2011. The Cypress Canopy Cycle now at Forever Florida takes you where no cyclist has been before (at least not intentionally) lifting you high up in the trees for a bird's eye view of their 4700 acre "eco-ranch". Then down in Key West Florida, there's 'Jetpack Adventures' for a bit of high-tech water fun. Though basically portrayed as a sort of James Bond device, for those of the Super Ball / Frisbee generation, it's of course instantly recognized as a ginormous Water Wiggle. Still,... it's got to be a whole lot of fun - it's by WHAM-O!

Florida Summer Camps 2011

"Okay kids, time to turn in your homework." These words are considered profanity at Florida Summer Camps where the major course is fun and you don't need a hall pass. Even here in Florahome, FL there are two great camps close by that will help fill the summer of 2011 with memories that will last a lifetime. Camp Immokalee and North Florida Christian Camp both located in Keystone Heights, FL offer a chance to meet new friends and have a go at something different. These are just a couple though with many more Florida Summer Camps listed at Kids Camps.com geared to meet different needs and interests. Even Disney World has a summer camp ready to turn out the next generation of film magic. It may cost you a little more than most Florida summer camps, but it does sound like fun.

Florida Science Museums

Science has never been more important and Florida science museums play an essential role stirring a kid's imagination and keeping that curiosity alive even into adulthood. Here's a list of some of those museums and other sources of science education available to the public in Florida.

Family Video Games

Finding family video games can sometimes be a challenge, but there are a few video games either on the market now or very soon will be, that are equally fun for video gamers, young and old alike. There is also a healthy new trend in the video game world to create games that are more mind engaging than mind numbing and taking a cue from Nintendo's wii are being designed to excercise more than just our thumbs - like Sony's Playstation Move or the hugely popular Kinect for Xbox 360 from Microsoft. Offered here are a few of these new family video games or perhaps video games for Christmas 2010 since they should all be available by then. If you do plan to give them as a gifts however, just make sure the video games you buy are intended for the video game system your gamer owns,... the return game is really no fun at all.

Karaoke Revolution Glee

Donkey Kong Country Returns

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

NBA Jam

Kirbys Epic Yarn

Super Scribblenauts

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011

Monopoly Streets

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Guilty Party

Also worth mentioning are a couple of great video game sites you may want to check out if you haven't already. N4G.com is a great way to get the scoop on what's hot and what's not in video games and video gaming systems. It's up-to-date, easy to navigate and with video game reviews and ratings from the video gamers themselves, this site is definetly one you'll want to bookmark. As far as video games for kids, there is also a video game website for parents or anyone concerned about just what's in that video game you're about to purchase. Common Sense Media.org is a wonderful resource giving you a clue as to the content of video games and other media as well as what message they may be sending. Both of these sites are highly recommended and will help insure that in the future, there will be quality family video games.

Things To Do In Florida Oct. 21 - 24, 2010

The kids in this part of Florida will have lots of things to do on these October dates,... us older kids too. The Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville is probably the closest to Florahome, and while it's a favorite fun hangout for both kids and adults any time of year, this weekend they're really letting it fly with their Butterfly Fest on the 23rd and 24th. No place makes nature more facinating and I'm sure it will be worth the trip. Not to be outdone, St. Augustine's 15th Annual Ancient City Kids Day is Oct. 23rd and since this is the 15th time this event has taken place, they obviously know how to throw a party. If you have the stamina, you could do the whole weekend at these two events. If you're REALLY in shape, there are things to do even now with the St. Johns County Agricultural Fair already in full swing and will remain so thru Oct. 24th.  Perry, Florida is also kicking things off early with a ton of things to do - from a kid's parade to Lumberjack shows and a golf tournament. Their Florida Forest Festival will run Oct. 21 - 23 and if you're anywhere close by (or even if you're not) it sounds like fun! Also, the Magnolia Fest begins on the 21st in Live Oak Florida. The Fall Market Festival in Newberry, FL featuring their 3rd annual BBQ Cook Off starts on the 22nd of October and will continue thru the 23rd. And don't forget Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios is still going on as well as the Spooktacular at SeaWorld and the International Food and Wine Festival at Disney World's Epcot. For still more things to do in Florida, check out these other events beginning with another one not too far from Florahome that sounds a bit different than the others mentioned, but just as much fun.
