Things to do in Florida September 30 - October 1, 2, 2011

This list of Things to do in Florida September 30 and October 1, 2, 2011 is like deja vu all over again. The month of October marks a full year Florahome USA has been posting the Things to do in Florida list and just like that first puny 9 event list posted around October 22nd of last year, this list signals the beginning of Fall with Octoberfests and other Fallish events welcoming in a brand new season of festive Florida fun. A year later however, the number of events listed on the Florahome USA Things to do in Florida list is just a bit bigger averaging around 60 or 70 events each week. A GINORMOUS thank you to those who have stuck around and for others seeing the list for the first time, please bookmark the page now, we'll wait,............................. Please also note, a link to the latest Things to do in Florida list always appears on the right-hand side of the page near the top just across from the post title. By the way, another first happening in Florida this coming weekend is the 1st Annual Halloween Costume Contest in Crescent City starting things off right with a Wizard of Oz theme this year (watch for flying monkeys). Luckily, Crescent City's just up the yellow brick road from here but hopefully you'll find other events in right in your own backyard on this week's list of Things to do in Florida September 30 and October 1, 2, 2011.

Florida's History

Florida's history, even from those early Spanish explorers searching through sweat and swamp for gold or lost youth has been a fabulous tale. At times though, it can feel like we ourselves are trudging through the Florida Everglades trying to find and piece together those precious nuggets of information about Florida's past. While this post may not in itself be a goldmine of information on the history of Florida, it will hopefully serve as a sort of map to guide you to some of the most valuable places to look for Florida's history both online and off. Links to the history of many cities, towns and other places in Florida are listed in alphabetical order along with the counties they're in. You'll also find links to museums and other sites for general information on Florida's past. Also an alphabetized list of Florida's counties and their history is provided separately. The history of Florida has stretched the entire journey of our nation - from savage wilderness to the the space age. It is home to both the rich and the roadside ridiculous packing into Florida's history books a little something for everyone. So if you're ready kids, just climb aboard the tram and let's see what we can learn about Florida's history.
