Okay kids! on this weeks list of Things to do in Florida August 12, 13, 14, 2011 it's BACK-TO-SCHOOL offering at least a portion of the places you may be able to save a dollar or two. Orlando for instance - in typical Orlando "over the mouse" style, is throwing a Back to school bash at the Amway Center reportedly giving away some 12,000 back packs!!! Oh my goodness. Please be aware though, that some of these events require registration or may have other restrictions so best call ahead or e-mail first. Of course this is tax break weekend for Florida so keep in mind, back to school shoppers will be out in force along with regulars who need no excuse and it could get quite dicey out there. Take deep breaths. For those looking for other things to do in Florida August 12, 13, 14, 2011 - keep scrolling. Yes it's hot. In fact it can be downright dangerous - especially THIS summer with some events even incorporating the heat into their theme,... like the Annual Dog Days of Summer at Coombs Inn Camellia Gardens in Apalachicola. Though there is credible evidence of how that term 'dog days of summer' got started, those having lived here in Florida a while may have a different version of the story - like if you've ever seen a dog on a Florida front porch on a hot summer day, no calendar or constellation could convey more perfectly what time of the year it would be. Well,...um,.. guess you'd like to get started, so here's this week's list of Things to do in Florida August 12, 13, 14, 2011.
