While looking for things to do in Florida Feb 25, 26, 27, 2011 we're also hoping for a continuation of the spring-like weather we've been having here in Florida lately. Outdoor activities abound this coming weekend with fairs going on in Pasco County, Lee County, Saint Lucie and don't miss the Central Florida Fair in Orlando. You can even find a garden show or two for those already itching to get out and plant something. Art shows and festivals are always in season but are especially enjoyable with the approach of spring when Mother Nature puts on her own colorful show. And while looking for those things to do in Florida Feb 25, 26, 27, 2011 be sure to consider the Naples National Art Show with links to some of those exhibiting their work posted right here on Florahome USA's own list of Florida artists. If you're in the market for a painting of the Naples area itself you may want to talk to Darlene Pearse who has some beautiful examples displayed on her website. Don Plumridge of Tampa Florida is another to check out for masterful creations on canvas that TRUELY reflect the best of Florida. From ceramics to jewelry, other Florida resident artists planning to attend the Naples show are Tsentas Vasileios, Glenn Woods (Pottery Boys) and Sarasota's jewelry genius Steve Pawloski. These of course are just a very small sample of the quality of artists to expect in Naples and at other Florida art shows this weekend. As always though, this things to do in Florida list has a little something for everyone whether you're into art or monster trucks, so get out and have some fun and if you're buried in the snow up north, drop that cold shovel and come on down!

Aside from all the other things to do in Florida this Jan 28, 29,30, 2011, they're having the Yesterday Festival at Gold Head State Park just a short drive from Florahome. Some of Florahome USA's own posts have touched on Florida's rich and unique history including the Florida cowboy and this weekend that history will brought to life with live demonstrations the whole family will enjoy. For a deeper plunge into the past, there are even more things to do both January 29, and 30th at the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire in Gainesville. Now in its 25th year entertaining Florida with everything from juggling to jousting, the Hoggetowne Medival Faire has become one of the most anticipated events in Gainesville. Of course those are just a couple of the many things to do in Florida this Jan 28, 29, 30, 2011. There are tons of things to do in Florida for Jan. 21, 22, and 23, 2011 and they're all listed here! Well not quite, but hopefully enough to keep you actively entertained all weekend. Active is the key word with events like the Matanzas 5k Fun Run in St. Augustine close enough to Florahome that we have no excuse but to lace up the ole Nikes and get movin'. Note that the 'Fun Run' has been listed just after the St. Augustine Chocolate Tour which we will most likely be hitting first. Also, an active race season is heating up in Daytona with the NASCAR Preseason Thunder Fan Fest so don't miss that one. Of course when you're talking Florida, you're talking about a diverse population with millions of tourists only adding to the broad range of interests. Clearly that diversity is reflected here with things to do for art and music lovers alike whether you're into Mozart or Merle Haggard. Those leaning more toward Mozart please note the offerings by our youth and lend your support to keep the arts alive in Florida for years to come. And by the way, the recent Kennedy Center Honoree, Merle Haggard will be here in Florida from Jan 27th until Feb 3rd so get your tickets early. Also Roy Clark will be performing at Silver Springs this coming Saurday, Jan 22nd so don't Hee Haw around and miss him. Enough already - there are enough things to do in Florida Jan 21, 22, and 23, 2011 to keep everyone actively happy - so get out there and have some fun!

One of the things to do in Florida this December 2010 is to watch out for the Grinch. Since the days of Charles Dicken's crotchety old skinflint, Ebenezer Scrooge and even before, there have always been those individuals who think 'every idiot who goes about with Merry Christmas on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding. Dealing with the Scrooges and Grinches who would steal our Christmas Spirit is just a part of the holiday package, but the best way yet to deal with them is to put them up on the stage and find out just what makes them so mean. At the Hippodrome in Gainesville, the Garden Theatre in Winter Garden as well as other theatres and school plays all over Florida, you can do just that. And as for the Grinch,... well he's now living in Orlando. Here's your list of other things to do in Florida this Dec 3, 4, and 5 2010 so go out and spread some holiday cheer!

This Thanksgiving Holiday weekend 2010 is a Christmas stocking stuffed with things to do in Florida - a great many of them having to do with lights, straining the old grid in a way that even Clark Griswold himself would envy. It is said that from November to New Years, Florida's incandescent glow can easily be spotted from the space shuttle and here in Florahome, we're but a short drive to a good deal of that brightly lit Holiday cheer. We've got the light parade in Jacksonville as well as the lighting of their tree and to the east in old St. Augustine, history sparkles in one of the most beautiful displays in the state. These are just two of the season's offerings close by with craft and art fairs, music and living history events providing even more things for us to do. This being the time of year for lists, here's one more that'll hopefully brighten your Florida weekend, and do it in more ways than one.

While searching for things to do in Florida this Nov 19, 20 and 21, 2010 you may hear some Delta riffs drifting over the St. Johns just down the line from Florahome in Palatka Florida. Before there was hip hop or even rock and roll, there was something called the blues and this week both Cape Coral and Palatka, Florida offer two festivals - The SW Florida Blues Fest and the St. Johns River Blues Festival to celebrate this deeply rooted part of our musical heritage. Also with the Holidays at our doorstep, The St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville, FL is having their Holiday Spectacular while over in St. Augustine one of the area's favorite events to get you in the Holiday spirit - the Night of Lights, begins on the 20th of November. Of course this is just a small taste of the things to do in Florida this November weekend, so get yourself a big plate, set up your lawn chair and chow down chillin'.
