Florahome USA Blog
The Florahome USA blog has maybe found a little good news about Florida for a change. Tomorrow's opening day for the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction at Orlando's Universal Studios theme park and with its investment of over $200 million and a legion of Harry Potter fans, it's a much needed brightspot in Florida's gloomy news of late. If one British production company can so damage Florida's tourist trade, perhaps another can work some magic and bring it back. Of course Harry Potter fans know Harry's the 'chosen one' but it may take the whole cast with wands out to rescue Florida from the oil dragon still lurking off the coast. You can find the latest on the oil spill here, but if you find it just too depressing, at least now all you readers of the Florahome USA blog know where to go in Florida to get some butterbeer.

FLORAHOME BLOG - Oil Spill Update
The Florahome USA blog oil spill update for June 10 2010 finds at the moment about as much frustration in those states threatened by the oil in the gulf as the amount of oil itself. Efforts to pin down an accurate figure for the amount of oil being released into the gulf are still ongoing. One of the main problems causing all the frustration is that no one knows if or when the oil may reach the Florida coast. The other big cause for concern is that the people who live and work in the area and who have the most to lose if the situation isn't handled correctly are not the ones in control of the situation, BP is. Having a bear just outside the family's camping tent is a scary thing. Trusting a gas station attendant you don't know to take care of the bear is even scarier. While we wait, thanks to those who are working and preparing to work to get us through this crisis and a special thanks to all those who visit the Florahome USA blog and who are continuing to pray for the best outcome possible.

Florahome USA Oil Spill Update
Considering the importance an impact the Deepwater Horizon oil spill has on all residence of the state of Florida, the Florahome USA blog is continuing to post updates, but The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has been designated the lead state agency for responding to potential impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill along Florida’s shoreline. That website will serve as the primary location for updates and information on response actions and impacts to the state of Florida. At this point, no one knows for sure how much oil is actually being released into the gulf, but this report doesn't sound too good. As always, thanks for visiting Florahome USA.

Feeling for Florida
Many in the USA and even the world are feeling for Florida right now as the oil from the BP rig increasingly threatens to reach the Florida coast. Those who have visited Florida and have experienced the beauty and wonder of the state and its wildlife can appreciate just how great a loss it would be if the oil cannot be stopped soon. Those of us who were born here and call Florida our home will feel it for the rest of our lives. Florahome USA was originally intended to be a respite from the nearly continuous bombardment of bad news we all contend with these days, but when the news hits this close to home and the threat is so grave and the effects so massive that they will impact not only those of us who live in Florida, but those of us who live on this planet, there is no choice but to address it. As is said, a picture paints a thousand words, so seeing this disaster up close and through the lens of a camera may bring the point home better than any words could. A word of warning though, anyone having a heart for this planet and the life it supports will not find these images easy to view. Nevertheless the efforts of Time and the photographers who took them are appreciated as they graphically portray the situation as it is. Pray for Florida - pray for us all.
